Margaret D. Meredith

WILMINGTON - Margaret D. Meredith, 95, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Christiana Medical Center in Wilmington. She was born on July 3, 1915, in Smyrna, to the late Edward and Clara Hutchins Donovan. She was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church and was very active in Epworth Methodist Church in Rehoboth, where she was a member of the Elizabeth Circle. She worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Dover for 37 years and retired in 1973. She was a member of N.A.R.F. E. She and her late husband Edwin moved from Wyoming to Lewes in 1984 to be near the beach were they enjoyed spending time together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin P.K. Meredith in 1994; and a brother, G. Wilds Donovan in 1972. She is survived by four nieces, Margaret E. and Gene Crossan of Newark, Carol Teague, Jane Roche, and Susan Bunzl; two great-nieces; Megan C. Boyle, and Lauren Crossan; a great-nephew, Alex Teague; a great-great-nephew, Leander Teague. Remembrance services will be 2 p.m., today, March 25, 2011, in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus Street, Dover, where friends may call at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
