A. Hufford, 63 DOVER - Margaret "Margie" A. Hufford, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Del., on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013. Margie was born in Smyrna, Del. to the late George and Juanita Allen-Hart. Mrs. Hufford worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years at the Delaware Home and Hospital. She also worked for 9 years as a Receptionist for the Miracle Ear Hearing Center/Dover Mall. Eventually she returned to her passion for healthcare and became a Personal Care Assistant for the Heritage Assisted Living in Dover, until her early retirement. Margie always had a warm smile and kind word for everyone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Jr., Winfield, Herbert P., and Gene L. Hart; and two sisters, Veronica V. and Nannabelle D. Hart. She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Bruce Hufford; her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Renee Slaughter of Smyrna; her three daughters and son-in-laws, Tammy and Jeff Slacum of Smyrna; April and Neal Kennedy of Dover, and Amy and Bill Tracey of Smyrna; her sisters, Jacqueline Faulkiner and Dorothy Cordeiro; grandchildren, Branden Slaughter, Brittney Hart, Nicole Kaye, Ashley Slaughter, Taylor Tracey, Danielle Slaughter, and Mikayla Kennedy; two great grandchildren, Katie and Dylan Passwaters; and her special cousin, Sharon "Bootsie" Slacum. A viewing will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be privately held in Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19904. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
