LINCOLN - Mrs. Marcella Evangeline Douglas passed away on Jan. 24, 2015 into the hands of her Lord and joined up with her family in their heavenly home. Mrs. Douglas was born in Boalsburg, PA as the youngest child of Edward William and Emma Mae Jacobs. She was proud of her heritage that began in early 1700's when her family immigrated from Germany and that her father served in the cavalry during the Spanish-American War under Colonel Theodore Roosevelt. Upon graduation from Lock Haven High School, she moved to State College, PA where she met her future husband Richard E. Douglas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Bruce, Glenn, George and Donald Jacobs, and her sisters Melva Hengst, Myrtle Williams, Charlotte McNicol, Mildred Banta and Jenny Catherine Jacobs. She is survived by her husband Richard E. Douglas and daughters, Pamela Sciocchetti (Arthur) and Susan Lipstas (Stanley), six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marcy spent the first 20 years of marriage traveling to several military bases with her husband. During one of these stops, she became an active Girl Scout leader and was the recipient of an award for her dedicated service to scouting and the Air Force community in Mississippi. She was a devoted wife for 63 years, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed shopping, traveling, camping and Penn State football. She was an accomplished roller skater and ice skater who pursued many frozen ponds in Pennsylvania without hesitation. A viewing will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford. A service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the funeral home with interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro to follow at 1 pm. Donations in Marcy's honor may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19148; the Masonic Children's Home, 1 Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or the Mary Circle, Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St, Milford, DE 19963, in lieu of flowers.
