Marc Thomas Larson, 22 MILTON - Marc Thomas Larson, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, in his home. He was 22. Thomas was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. As a member of PRP Company, a mortuary affairs unit, he served his country in Iraq in 2007-2008. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 2008 with the rank of Lance Corporal. Thomas joined Iraq Veterans Against the War after he returned from Iraq and firmly believed that the U.S. should bring our troops home. He was a 2005 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and attended Delaware Tech as a Visual Communications major. Thomas was an accomplished artist and poet. He enjoyed photography, juggling, surfing, lacrosse, music, and art house films. He especially loved reading beat and Bohemian writers and poets. As an accomplished practical jokester, he left all who knew him with memories of his pranks. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Linnea Dorine Houghtling in 2006. He is survived by two sisters, Laura Larson, and Alyssa Houghtling; and his godmother, Mary Miller, all of Milton. Thomas's motto was "Friends Are Family." He is also survived by many close and loyal friends who were like brothers and sisters to him. Memorial services were held privately. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home to defray expenses.
