Man shot in Dagsboro by unidentified suspect

DAGSBORO — On Sunday, at approximately 5:33 a.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 30000 block of Thorogoods Road for a report of a suspicious person knocking on the door of the home, Delaware State Police said.

When responders arrived, they located a 39-year-old man from Virginia sitting in the driveway with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg, spokeswoman Sgt. India Sturgis said. He was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim reported that he was walking down Thorogoods Road when an unidentified suspect shot him, police said. Sgt. Sturgis added there is no additional information regarding the suspect.
