Magnolia man dies from gunshot wound

MAGNOLIA — A 30-year-old Magnolia man died Thursday after being transported to an area hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

Police responded to the 200 block of Jeffrey Drive in London Village at approximately 12:05 a.m., after a report of the man’s injury, Cpl. Pepper said. He was transported by emergency medical services to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Identification is pending notification of kin.

The DSP Homicide Unit is in the early stages of this investigation, and circumstances surrounding it are unclear, Cpl. Pepper said. There is no suspect information, she added.
Jeffrey Road was closed for approximately six hours.
