Maggie Ann Montgomery

SMYRNA - Maggie Ann Montgomery, of Smyrna, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. She was 94. Maggie was born Dec. 24, 1915, in Taylors Bridge,the daughter of the late William and Elsie Staats Warner. She was a homemaker who enjoyed giving to others and volunteering at the Church. Maggie was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Smyrna and the Women's Auxiliary of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill of Smyrna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Montgomery in 1985; and a daughter, Peggy Ann Montgomery in 1944. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy R.M. Bush and her husband, Jerry, of Pemberton, N.J.; and a granddaughter, Peggy Lee Anderson and her husband, Jimmy Murray, of Dover. Funeral services will be Monday, August 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main St., Smyrna, where friends and family may call Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, Maggie wanted contributions to be made to either Asbury United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 330 Smyrna, DE 19977, or Friendship United Methodist Church, c/o Elsie and Pauline Shockley, 986 Taylors Bridge Rd. Townsend, DE 19734.
