Madalin N. Fortner, 81

SMYRNA - Madalin N. Fortner of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday Nov. 12, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. She was 81. Mrs. Fortner was born March 7, 1927, in Townsend, the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Tucker Nabb. Mrs. Fortner was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fortner was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Fortner Jr. in 1985; a granddaughter; Karen Spray; and a great-grandson, James Spray. She is survived by her son, Howard A. Fortner III of Smyrna; three daughters, Sandra Shuman of Smyrna, Jane DiVirgilis and her husband Armond of Smyrna and Elaine Pickering and her husband Kevin of Dover; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
