
SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Lula Blanche Thompson Satterfield on Mar. 10, 2017, flew to heaven on butterfly wings.
Mrs. Satterfield was born Feb. 15, 1921, near Barclay, Md., the daughter of the late William T. Thompson and Mae Gray Thompson. She was a lifelong resident of Queen Anne's County, Md., where she drove a school bus for 22 years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending Homecomings at Busick Church. She was a past member of the Sudlersville Homemakers, Betterment Club, and Top of the Hill Club. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, family history and going to Thompson family reunions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aldrich "Dickie" Satterfield; two sons, Charles A. Satterfield and Ronald "Reggie" Satterfield; two sisters, Beatrice Ann Hurd and Eleanor Wise McDonald; and her brother, Samuel C. Thompson.
"Miss Lula" is survived by one son, William "Billy" Satterfield, of Sudlersville, Md.; a daugther-in-law, Nancy Satterfield Wheeler (Woody), of Decatur, Ala.; five grandchildren, David Satterfield, of Sudlersville, Md., Suzanne Harris (Jeff), of Smyrna, George Satterfield (Debbie), of Magnolia, Valerie Edge (Ronnie), of Magnolia, James Satterfield (Beth), of Dover; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many friends.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Mar. 17, 2017, at 2:30 p.m., at Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, Md.
