Louise M. Stover of Dover, formerly of Hartly passed away, Friday, November 26, 2021, at State Street Assisted Living, Dover. Mrs. Stover was born January 27, 1932, in Wilbraham, Massachusetts to the late Emerson Manning and Mildred Wright Manning.
After growing up in Massachusetts, she met and married J.C. Stover. As an Air Force wife, she traveled with him to Turkey, Bermuda, Florida, Alaska, Massachusetts, and finally settling in Dover where she started her career in 1971, working for Pratt Insurance in Smyrna until her retirement in 1999, as a Vice President - Comptroller. Mrs. Stover was a member of the Hartly Methodist Church, The Red Hatters Society, and the Dover Modern Maturity Center where she enjoyed dancing. She also liked painting with watercolor and oils and traveling, especially her winter "snowbird" trips to Key West.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Stover; her companion of 25 years, Clinton Adams; brother, Donald L. Manning; and sister, Janet Economidy.
She is survived by her children, Bruce J. Stover and his wife Debra of Magnolia, Brenda J. Dorsey and her husband Joseph of Bear and Brian J. Stover of Wilmington; sister, Virginia "Ginnie" Troup of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Amber Ponchak, Jason Stover, Shaun Long, Nicolle Dorsey, Kylie Babilya, Matthew, Andrew, and Meghan Stover; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Arianna, Reagan, Jonathan, Jessica, Leia, Levi, Aubrie and Elias. She is also survived by Clinton's children, David Adams and his wife Deborah, Cheryl Adams Hollis, and Tom Adams and his wife Teresa and their families.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
