Louis Stubbolo

DOVER - Louis Stubbolo passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 80. Louis was born on Jan. 25, 1931, in Huntington, N.Y., son of the late Philip and Myrtle (Barr) Stubbolo. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Louis worked as a high school teacher and his hobbies included raising orchids. He was Past President of the Korean War Veterans, former member of the American Legion and a member of the Mispillion Kennel Club. Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Stubbolo. He is survived by six children, Ann Fletcher and her husband Kevin of Felton, Philip Stubbolo and his wife Jonnie of Rising Sun, Lance Stubbolo and his wife Diana of Magnolia, Garth Stubbolo and his wife Gwen of Clayton, Glen Stubbolo and his wife Regina of Dover, and Mark Stubbolo and his wife Kimberly of Olathe, Mo.; three sisters, Betty McLeod of Wall Kill, N.Y., Phyllis Cuchra of Larue, Texas, and Myrtle Tenney of Honolulu, Hawaii; and a sister-in-law, Roberta Koenig of North Dakota; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Mass of Christian Burial will be noon, Thursday, Aug. 18, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in Louis' memory. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
