HARRINGTON - Lois S. Perry, 73, of Harrington, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday evening, Sept. 1, 2011. She was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Milford, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Slaughter. She worked at Lou's Bootery, in Milford, for 28 years and took great pride in being a wife, mom and homemaker. She loved her family, her friends, and her home, all of which gave her great comfort and joy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Paul Perry; a sister, Peggy Yost; brother in-law, Dick Yost; and brother, Lofland Slaughter. She is survived by her children, Harold Brown Jr. and his wife Shirley of Burlington, N.C., Deborah Leech and her husband Robert of Clayton, and Angela Washburn and her husband Jeffrey of Brooksville, Fla. She also leaves behind a brother, Gene Slaughter and his wife Chris; a sister, Sandra Cole; grandchildren, Heather and Daniel Gibson, Ryan Brown, Colby Washburn, Justin Cooper and Alexander Washburn; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Nancy Yost, Beau Cole, Frank Slaughter, Dawn Skinner and Terri Ford. Graveside services will be private. Interment will be Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or American Cancer Society P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements handle by Berry Short Funeral Home, Milford.
