Lois Ann (Stetler) Young, 89
On March 15, 2021, Lois Ann (Stetler) Young peacefully passed away, surrounded by her immediate family at Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was a resident of Dover Place Senior Living, formerly of Smyrna.
Born and raised in Roxborough, PA, on August 1, 1931, Lois was the only child of William C. Jr., and Dorothea C. Stetler.
After graduating from Roxborough High School, Lois worked at Container Corporation in Manyunk, PA, where she learned the art of photography and marketing.
Lois met her future husband of 61 years, Ross Edward Young, while he was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ. The couple married on January 1, 1953 in Roxborough. Eight months later they established Youngs' Studio of Photography on Loockerman Street in Dover. Years later, joined by their son, Ross Eric Young, the family business continued for over 61 years.
Surviving Lois are her three children; Linda (Young) Robinson and husband Robert Sr. of Clayton, Joyce (Young) Cain and husband Michael of Pennsboro, WV, and Ross Eric Young of Dover.
Lois is also survived by six grandchildren; Robert Robinson Jr. and wife Stacey, of Marydel, Jonathan Robinson of Smyrna, Laura (Robinson) Grier and husband Jason of Woodside, Gregory Robinson of Clayton, Jennifer (Cain) Dodd and husband John of Pennsboro, WV, and Stephanie (Cain) Arend and husband Rob of Batavia, NY.
Her great grandchildren are Grant and Elyssia Robinson, Hunter and Garrett Grier, Bryce Robinson, Ava DellAngelo, Olivia and Grayson Dodd, and Ember, Ross, and Bishop Arend.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Ross. In addition to co-owning their family business, she was an avid homemaker and gardener, raising particularly orchids and roses. She also loved music, playing the guitar and organ, knitting, quilting, puzzles, and swimming.
Lutheran by faith, Lois will be interred beside her husband at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
