Lois A. Landing

Lois A. Landing, 76 DOVER - Lois A. Landing, of Dover, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, in Lincoln. She was 76. Mrs. Landing was born Nov. 28, 1933, in Quinby, Va., and moved to Delaware in 1956. She had worked for the State of Delaware, Division of Libraries as a driver for the Bookmobile and in the library, retiring in 1998 after 35 years. Mrs. Landing enjoyed reading and going to the beach. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Dover and the County Library Commission of Levy Court. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esley Taylor, Lola Cropper Boole, and Pat Boole; her husband, Billy B. Landing in 1987; and her son, Robert Landing in 1996. She is survived by sons, Donald Landing and his wife Mary of Boston, Mass., and Ronald Landing and his wife Vickie of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Debbie Schucker and her husband David of Dover; sisters, Peggy Robinson of Belhaven, Va., and Florence Kellam of Painter, Va.; brother, John Boole of Wyoming; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her special caregivers at Annie's Eldercare in Lincoln. A viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday evening, Aug. 4, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, in Downings Cemetery, Oak Hall, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
