Lois A. DaPrato

Dover - Lois A. DaPrato passed away Saturday April 5, 2014 at Pinnacle Nursing Home, Smyrna. Mrs. DaPrato was born Dec. 11, 1931 in Portsmouth, N.H. to the late Robert Wesley Godfrey and Rachel Ross Godfrey. She met her husband Peter while working as a secretary for General Foods in White Plains, N.Y. and then they transferred to the Dover General Foods. Mrs. LaPrato was a member of the PTA for Capitol School District. She enjoyed bird watching, reading, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter DaPrato in 2005 and daughter, Janet DuPhily in 2007. She is survived by two grandchildren, Sara and Matthew both in Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call from 6-9 Friday evening and from 8:45AM to 9:15AM Saturday morning at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way #205, New Castle, Delaware 19720. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
