Hens promote O’Connor: Danny O’Connor has been promoted to director of men’s basketball operations, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Friday.

O’Connor spent his first five seasons as the program’s coordinator of player development/videography. In that role he was responsible for all basketball-related film and video editing, and aided the assistant coaches in creating scouting reports.
He oversaw the team’s manager program, and assisted with running camps and clinics throughout the year.

O’Connor, who graduated from Indiana in 2016, has been a member of Ingelsby’s staff during all six of his seasons in Newark.

The Blue Hens increased their win total in each of his first four years, and advanced to the CAA Tournament Semifinals in 2019 and 2020.

“We are very excited to announce Danny’s promotion to director of basketball operations,” Ingelsby said. “Danny has been a valuable member of our coaching staff the last five years and I am honored to be able to elevate him into this new role. His work ethic, strong interpersonal skills and commitment to our team’s core values have prepared him to take on this new responsibility.”
