CAMBRIDGE — A Little Caesars could open in Cambridge in as little as five months once the pizza franchise finds someone from the area interested in owning a restaurant. Ed Ader, director of franchise development for Little Caesars, said the closest pizza places to Cambridge are in Salisbury and Seaford, Del. According to Mr. Ader, the pizza franchise is looking to fill in the Mid-Shore gaps by starting in Cambridge, but he is also eyeing Easton and Denton. “We want to get in these towns that haven’t gotten a Little Caesars yet,” Mr. Ader said while explaining that Cambridge is the center of commerce for Dorchester County. “What we offer the franchisee is they probably know the area better than we do, but we also know what we’re looking for.” Mr. Ader said Little Caesars is strictly carry out with no seating and no delivery. The ideal location will be a standalone restaurant with a drive-thru window. He listed Shoal Creek Mall and Dorchester Square as possible locations. Anyone interested in becoming a franchisee has an opportunity to take on ownership of the Easton and Denton locations. “Those are the closest opportunities,” Mr. Ader said. “We’d like to get something open sometime next year ... It’s something that can happen very fast for someone.” Mr. Ader encouraged anyone interested in owning a Little Caesars franchise to visit the website, littlecaesars.com. He said the phone number 800-553-5776 leads right to the franchise development department, a team of seven people who will be happy to answer any questions. “We’d be glad to talk to anybody any time about it,” he said. Little Caesars offers inexpensive pizza and other food that is hot and ready to serve. Mr. Ader said the ideal customer is looking to feed a family quickly and affordably. A typical Little Caesars employs 20 to 25 people, mostly part time. Franchisees also have an opportunity to make use of the charitable Little Caesars Love Kitchen which travels across North America to help those in need. Little Caesars has two trucks in operation so they can be of service 365 days a year. These restaurants on wheels have served more than three million people in the U.S. and Canada for more than 30 years. Little Caesars franchise owners donate the resources necessary to make each Love Kitchen serving a success. An estimated 50,000 franchisees, their employees and corporate colleagues have volunteered over the years to support the program in their local communities.
