Linwood Elwood Duckery, 66

SMYRNA - Linwood Elwood Duckery, departed this life on Aug. 20, 2009, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Born on April 2, 1943, in Chesterville, Md., to the late Weston and Ida Duckery, he was 66 years old. He grew up in Kent County and attended Garnett School in Chestertown, Md. He graduated and enlisted in the United States Army for two years after which he moved to Stow, Pa. He lived there for several years and later moved to Smyrna. In additin to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Theodore Duckery, Charles Duckery, Vincent Duckery, Robert Duckery, and Wilbert Garfield Duckery. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; three stepchildren, Brandon, Patrick and Shelly; five step-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Lively, Anna Tate and Evelyn Givens; one brother, Wiliam Earl Duckery; two sisters-in-law, Jennetta Duckery and Virginia Duckery; one brother-in-law, Linwood G. Lively, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Smyrna, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be private. Letters of condolence and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
