Lillie passed away at Kent General Hospital 04/23/2023 with daughter and granddaughter in attendance.
Lillie was born 01/03/1935 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Walter Lee Brown and Mildred Brown, Larkus Bell and Lillie Mae Bell.
She graduated from Howard High, Chattanooga, TN with Honors. She was an accomplished singer and pianist. After graduation she joined the United States Air Force. Airman Lillie Brown married fellow Air Force Staff Sargent Augustus E. Adams, Sr. Lillie left the Air Force in 1958 to become a full-time homemaker. During this time, she traveled with her late husband Augustus Adams. They lived in Sevilla, Spain for 20 years, she became fluent in Spanish. They left Spain to live in Turkey, where she also leaned Turkish, while stationed in Incirlik Air Force Base in Adana, Turkey, Lillie volunteered as a drug and alcohol counselor, she also volunteered with the American Red Cross at the base hospital. She was a member of the Incirlik Officer's Wives Club. She also enjoyed political debating, sewing, crocheting, painting, and dancing and most of all raising her only granddaughter, Jasmine.
Lillie is survived by daughter, Dawn M. Adams-Pickett, Dover; son, Augustus Adams, Jr. (Juni) both live in Dover; granddaughter, Jasmine Sevilla Nicole Pickett, MD; sister, Eleanor Howard, TN; brother-in-law, Lord Darby, PA.
Lillie was preceded in death by her late husband, Augustus E. Adams, Sr. (Gus); daughter, SMSGT Heather Maria Clemente Adams; son, Edward Francesco Nicole Adams; father, Walter Lee Brown; mother, Mildred Wilson, Larkus Bell, Lillie Bell; her sister, Jeannetta L.B. Darby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Food Bank of Delaware, FBD.org
Graveside services will be held 1PM, Friday, May 5, 2023, at Lakeside Cemetery, N. State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Veterans are invited.
