Lillian Vivian Burris Harris

Burris Harris, 89 FELTON- - Lillian Vivian Burris Harris, passed away on Nov. 30, 2012 peacefully and suddenly at home in Felton, Delaware. She was born on March 6, 1923 in Viola, Del. The daughter of the late George Washington Burris and Joanna Guy Burris. She was married to the late Charles Fisher "Bootsie" Harris. Lillian graduated from the Delaware Educational System. She worked for many years at the Swift Chicken Factory in Felton, Delaware. Her favorite hobbies were solving crossword puzzles, playing the lottery and slots. Lillian was loved by many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Thomas El, Blanche Scott and brother George Burris. Lillian is survived by two children, James William "Buster" Burris, Joanne Tilghman (Samuel); three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; her companion, Thomas Scott; loyal friends, Josephine Mae, Helena Burris, Liz Elzy, Lillian Quail and Brenda; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be private. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, Del.
