MILLINGTON, Md. - Lillian Mae Johnson, of Millington, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at the Lorien Nursing Home in Belcamp. She was 95. Lillian M. Johnson was born Nov. 7, 1914, in Goldsboro, the daughter of the late Emmitt Kennedy and Louise Gould Kennedy. Mrs. Johnson was educated in the public school system in Caroline County. She was a self employed domestic worker in Kent and Queen Anne's County. She was a member of Graves Chapel UAME Church in Millington. She enjoyed sitting on her porch listening to gospel music, talking on the phone and cooking, especially apple dumplings, and rice and bread pudding. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Johnson; two daughters, Lucinda Martin and Mary Duckery; and 13 siblings. She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Duckery of Chesterville; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight great-great- grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington. Services will be noon, Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Graves Chapel UAME Church, Millington. Friends may call two hours prior at the church. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery in Goldsboro.
