Lillard Roy Rose Jr.

SMYRNA - Lillard Roy Rose Jr. passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 79. He was born on Aug. 7, 1931, in Gate, Okla., son of the late Eva and Lillard Roy Rose, Sr. Lillard served in the U.S. Air Force serving 20 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was an avid sports fan, especially Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Cowboys. Lillard also enjoyed dancing. Lillard is survived by his wife, Terri Whitney-Rose; four children of Texas, Gene Rose, Steven Rose, Dawn Rose and Christina Kebel; and mother-in-law, Ruby Whitney of Dover. Memorial service will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
