Lewes Fire Co. seeks foursomes for golf tourney

Posted

LEWES — The Lewes Fire Department is preparing for its largest fundraiser of the year, the fourth annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on April 30, with foursomes still available for $1,500 apiece.

All of the funds go directly to operating expenses, it said in a release. The Lewes Fire Department operations depend solely on donations and grants, which provide critical emergency response to our community. It reported responding to 1,147 fire calls and 6,442 EMS/ambulance emergencies in 2024 with its volunteer members.

The fire department is expecting a five percent increase in these calls in 2025.

With expectations of over 100 golfers, the event will take place at The Rookery Golf Club located at Coastal Highway and Broadkill Road just outside of Milton.

If a group would like to donate but is unable to attend, the department will donate the funds to firefighters, EMTs or Sussex County Paramedics, as determined by the donating group.

For more information, call (302) 423-4801.
