I would like to address all those people blaming Joe Biden for the pandemic and inflation.
If we had leadership when this mess started, we would not be in this situation by now. It is the people who have not gotten vaccinated and those who won’t wear masks that have now caused us to have (as of this writing) over 804,000 deaths in this country.
There is no excuse in a country this advanced. Shots are free, boosters are free, not one major religion bans vaccines, and this is all political. You care nothing about your families, co-workers, anyone you come in contract with and certainly not our doctors and nurses, who have put their lives on the line for two years in this battle. Face it, if everyone had gotten the vaccine and boosters and had continued to wear masks, we would have had this under control. And don’t complain about having to get three shots. When the polio vaccines came out, we had multiple doses. And because of those multiple doses, we eradicated that disease. There should be vaccine mandates for every person in this country.
You rant about inflation. This has been the fastest economic recovery ever. Production has still not caught up with demand. The president has no control over this. This is the job of the Federal Reserve. If they had had the sense to limit their bond-buying six months ago and started to raise interest rates, we would not have the inflation we have now. Only now are they starting to reduce bond purchases and won’t be raising interest rates probably until March. And you can be assured that our farmers, meat producers and truckers are not the ones making a killing from the price increases.
As the president tries to help the people, he is stopped by people who drive Maseratis — cars worth a hundred thousand dollars — and who live on houseboats, and the ones making half a million dollars per year from coal. It seems half of our Congress is more interested in lining their own pockets than helping the people of this country.
Let’s talk about where this nation is headed. In the past five years, we have heard name-calling that would shock a sailor. We have had an attempted overthrow of our Constitution, and we have heard nothing but talk of purging people who don’t agree with everything that one person says. This is exactly what happened in China when Mao Zedong took over. They are banning books, trying to change the teaching of our real history and undermining our public health. This speaks of the run-up to Nazi Germany. Is this the kind of nation you want? Then listen to Merle Haggard’s song that says, “If you don’t love it, leave it.”
