Letter to the Editor: Hold accountable those refusing to vaccinate

Posted

E pluribus unum — out of many, one — is no longer the motto of our country. The idea that we would protect each other seems to have gone the way of the Republican Party, destroyed by Donald Trump.  His lies and malfeasance have influenced his loyal Trump Party members to refuse to get vaccinated.

Those who won’t get vaccinated against the coronavirus are endangering all those who legitimately can’t take the vaccine, a group that includes children under 12, such as my granddaughter, and those who suffer from autoimmune illnesses.

Those who refuse vaccination are complicit in the deaths of hundreds of people that are now being infected with the Delta variant as it spreads. They, along with news and internet services that spread lies about the virus, should be held accountable.
