Some recent public criticism of Mayor Robin Christiansen is unwarranted (“Dover crime: NAACP panel chair seeks meeting on public safety,” June 14).
I have known Robin since he was a “bag boy” at a local grocery store decades ago. I know him well enough to know that he cares about the safety and welfare of all city residents.
While some may prefer a different method of policing or prefer more cops in certain areas, I have followed with interest the crime-fighting efforts of Chief Johnson and of the city, and they are on the right path with their community policing work.
Keep up the good work, Dover Police Department and Mayor Christiansen!
