Letter to the Editor: Calif. rep.’s call for Feinstein to resign ‘disgraceful’

Posted

Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., has called for Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., to resign because of her recent medical problems. Khanna said that she should resign for “her own dignity.” Also, Khanna said, “I’m hopeful that people who are close to her can talk to her and just say, ‘Look, end your service with dignity. Step aside. Let the governor appoint someone.’”

These are outrageous and disgraceful statements by Khanna. Working while having medical conditions shows determination and perseverance, not a lack of dignity. The Democratic Party is supposed to defend minorities like the disabled. Feinstein should continue being a U.S. senator as long as she can show up and vote.
