In a recent the Speak Up section of the Delaware State News, viewpoints were expressed about bringing jobs back into the state (“Legislation aims to bring companies to Delaware,” Aug. 2).
That would be awesome but what would be better is to bring jobs back into our country that were so easily handed overseas. Oh, I realize we must all share, but to give away much-needed jobs — or should I say, what were once much-needed jobs? — hurt our economy badly.
Besides, it seems to me that the quality has really gone down with imports. I, for one, would love to see a “Made in America” tag on more than half the products in any given store and to see American-made quality once again. Wouldn’t that just beat all? Bet you would see lots of smiles on many faces, as the attitudes in the workplace may just shift from negative to positive.
Also, the government could stop handing over money and make people get off their duffs and work for a living, which they should do now. But bringing jobs back would be an added incentive. One can only hope and pray.
