Lester Brooks Brumfield Jr.

DOVER - Lester Brooks Brumfield Jr. passed away Sunday, June 26, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 63. He was born on Oct. 20, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Lester and Lynette (Hoover) Brumfield. Lester served his country proudly in the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He then worked for J.P. Morgan in shipping and receiving as a clerk. He enjoyed food, movies, bass guitar, modeling, driving and video games. Lester was a member of AAA, AARP and Vietnam Vets. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Warren Brumfield, Gregory Moore and Gary Hoover. Lester is survived by three children, Lester B. Brumfield III of Worchester, Mass., Crystal Douglas and Shaun Douglas, both of Philadelphia; a brother, Walter Brumfield and his wife Bobbie with whom he lived; nieces and nephews, Marquita Moore, Gregory Moore, Angelina Moore, Lynette Brumfield, Warren W. Brumfield Jr., Amber Brumfield, Aaron Brumfield, Walter and Lynette Hoover; and several grandnieces and nephews. Services will be 6 p.m., Thursday, June 30, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
