DENTON, MD - Leonard T. "L.T." Blades, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, in Ruxton Health of Denton. He was 86. Born on Aug. 22, 1922 in Burrsville, near Harrington, Mr. Blades was the son of the late Harlon Russell Blades and Lola Mae Fountain Blades. He had lived in Caroline County all his life where he worked for the Pet Milk Company in Greensboro and then Waverly Press in Easton, retiring in 1981. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kennard Blades, and Russell Blades. Mr. Blades is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Quillen Blades, of Denton; two sons, L. Dale Blades and Ronald E. Blades, both of Denton; one brother, Charles Blades, of Richmond, Va.; and one sister, Mary Ellen Hutson, of Chester, Md. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton, Md., where friends may call one hour before the service. The burial will be in the Denton Cemetery in Denton, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending memorial donations to the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 S. Fifth Ave., Denton, MD 21629; or to Ruxton Health of Denton, 420 Colonial Drive, Denton, MD 21629.
