Leon McMillian Sr., 83

ELLENDALE - Leon McMillian Sr., of Ellendale, died suddenly on Dec. 25, 2008, in his home. He was 83. Leon was born May, 1, 1925 in Mobile, Ala., to the late Rosie Perry and Allen McMillan. Leon came to Delaware more than 40 years ago, working as laborer for several construction companies. His last employment was with Young & Revel Office Supply Co. He often attended Temple of Faith Church, where he received and accepted Jesus Christ and his personal savior. Family members said Leon seemed extremely happy and overjoyed with a spiritual peace on Christmas Eve, as if he knew his passing was soon to be. He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Leola J. McMillan; one son, Leon and Michelle Jr. of Ellendale, two daughters, Catherine Doyle and Vincent Mackey and Rosie and Boyd Williams all of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Welcome Full Gospel Church, Lincoln, where friends my call at the church two hours prior to the service. Bishop Roland Mifflin will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam AME Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Services, Lewes.
