DOVER - Leon E. Tribbitt, formerly of Milford, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at Westminster Village Health Center in Dover. Leon was born in Bowers Beach on Dec. 5, 1925, son of the late John and Helen (Robinson) Tribbitt. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving his country proudly during World War II. Mr. Tribbitt was employed in sales for Burris Foods in Milford for 25 years, retiring in 1978. He was an avid fan of Phillies baseball catching most all of their televised games during the season. In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Tribbitt; three brothers; and one sister. He is survived by three sons, William L. Tribbitt of Milford, Richard M. Tribbitt and his wife Vicky of Marydel, and Steven W. Tribbitt of Harrisburg, Pa.; a daughter, Debbie O'Brien and her husband Steve of Hartly; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Rd, Frederica. Burial with military honors will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Season's Hospice, 220 Continental Dr, Suite 101, Newark, DE, 19713.
