Lee F. 'Chip'
Slaughter, Jr., 77
DOVER, DE - It is with great sadness that the family of Chip Slaughter announces his passing on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the home of his sister, Terri Carter of Dover.
Chip was raised in Smyrna and later attended and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pennsylvania. After graduation he returned to Dover and worked with the family business, Lee F. Slaughter Fine Cars, Dover. After several years he ventured out on his own and started Chip Slaughter Auto Sales. He loved his dogs, fishing, and racing cars. Everyone who knew him knew that cars were his life.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Lee F. and Edna B. Slaughter; his brother-in-law, Neal Carter; and his nephew-in-law, Brian Miller.
He is survived by his two sons, Wade Slaughter of Dover and Paul Slaughter of Florida; his sister, Terri Carter of Dover; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Brooke Slaughter of Florida. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kim Kilby and her husband Steve of Milton; Kris King and her husband Bill and their children Matt and Nick Miller all of Dover; Rhys Slaughter and his wife Kelly and their children, Gray, Leo, and Halle all of Florida; Breck Slaughter of Florida.
Thank you each and every person that touched his life, it was so appreciated and will be remembered always.
At Chip's request there will be no services.
Because of the wonderful care Delaware Hospice provided, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Dover Office, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
