Leatha Banning

MILFORD - Leatha Banning went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Mar. 6, 2017.
Leatha was born on Oct. 13, 1921 to the late Elmer and Junie Morgan of Milford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph and Jimmy Morgan; and a sister, Joan Dearth.
She is survived by her loving husband of 77 years, Thurman Banning; two sisters, Ethel Craft of Milford, and Ruth Boyce of Seaford; and a brother Bobby Morgan and his wife Anna Lee of Milford; also by a nephew who lived with her and was like a son to her, David Morgan and his wife Jeanie; their daughter Jody Nicole, and her daughter Morgan and son David Jr and his wife Jenny, and their sons Ben and Jase. In addition to her nephew David, she is survived by her niece, Alisa Morgan Loria who lived with her for a short time; and 7 nephews and 6 nieces who loved their very special Aunt Leatha.
Leatha enjoyed the visits from her great niece and great nephew, as well as her great-great niece and nephews. Leatha was a member of the Cedar Neck Church and loved her fellow members and sisters and brothers in Christ. She especially enjoyed attending the concerts of her nephews David Morgans, Music Ministry for the Soul, and was very proud of the work he did for the Lord through is Music Ministry.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1 pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call after 11 am. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
