Leases for acreage in Monie Bay requested from DNR for shellfish propagation

Posted

ANNAPOLIS — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has updated its Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Application Tracking Tool to reflect the receipt of completed applications from Gordon J. Nock for shellfish aquaculture leases in Monie Bay.

One is for 108 acres and the other is 69.2 acres and detailed information and maps are online at the Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Applications webpage.

According to DNR, “Designation of an application as complete does not mean that the proposed lease location meets all of the criteria for lease approval. Proposed lease locations are subject to change throughout the review process.”

Mr. Nock is also in Phase I review of an application to lease 19 acres of the Wicomico River, in Wicomico County. Last year he submitted an application for 84 acres also in the Wicomico River in Somerset County.

The status of each application will be updated as it progresses through the review process.
