GEORGETOWN - Lauren Elizabeth Johnson, age 27, of Georgetown, passed away suddenly in her home, on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. Lauren was born in Dover, and graduated from Sussex Central High School. Lauren was a loving and caring person, who enjoyed doing for family and friends in need. She loved to shop and had an eye for fashion. She also enjoyed good books, great movies, and lots of music. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother and dear friend, Eleanor Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Denise (Adkins) Hearn and husband Bob, of Georgetown; her father, Mike Johnson of Georgetown; paternal grandfather, Layton Johnson of Georgetown; maternal grandparents, Harold and Anita Adkins, of Selbyville; aunts, Donna Blackburn and husband Kirk, Sharon Johnson, Becky Johnson Dennis and an uncle, George Johnson; a step sister, Billie Criswell and husband Daren and a step brother, Luke Nichols. She is also survived by her special cousins, Matt Blackburn, Tim Blackburn and Sydney Dennis, her fiancé', Kenny Carmichael and a host of extended family and friends and "Squeaks", her feline companion. A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Georgetown Public Library, 10 W. Pine Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
