SMYRNA - Laura Jean Ennis Onofrey, passed away March 2, 2015 in the Tucker House Rehabilitation Center, Philadelphia following a short illness. Native to Smyrna, she was born July 2, 1925, a daughter of Harry T., Sr. and Virginia Williams Ennis. A homemaker, she was a long time resident of Philadelphia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Melvin; son, Melvin H.; brothers, Harry T., Jr. and Richard E. Ennis; and sister, Doris Ennis Jones. Mrs. Onofrey is survived by her son, Michael H. and his wife, Helen; brothers, Robert T. Ennis and his wife, Shirley, Bruce C. Ennis and his wife, Grace; sister, Virginia A. Morris; daughter-in-law. Mary Anne; grandchildren, Kimberly, Mel, Marianne, Therese and Alice; and great grandchildren, Aidan, Christopher, Nadine and Michael. Funeral services were held Friday, March 7, 2014 in the McBride Funeral Home, followed by internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia. The family wishes to thank all friends and relations for their condolences, thoughts and prayers. Donations in her memory, to any animal shelter or organization of choice are welcome
