DOVER - Larry Norwood McAllister passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
Mr. McAllister was born in Hagerstown, MD to the late Wilbur Bridges McAllister and Reba Lorraine Eyler McAllister.
He grew up in Hagerstown, Maryland attending Hagerstown High School, and following graduation attended Notre Dame University receiving a degree in engineering. Mr. McAllister was the owner of Eagle Group in Clayton, Delaware for 51 years. He was a true entrepreneur at heart. Eagle Group was his passion and number one hobby, and he took great pride in his business and sincerely cared for everyone who represented the company.
In his leisure time he enjoyed everything hunting and farming. If he was not in the office, he was likely taking phone calls from industry friends or negotiating his next big deal while in his deer stand or duck blind.
In addition to his parents; Mr. McAllister was preceded in death by his brother, Rick L. McAllister.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Moore) McAllister, of 47 years; children, Tina Marsh and husband Mike, of Loganville, GA, Tonya Hucks and husband Travis, of Ormond Beach, Florida, Lauren M. Conlon and husband Stephen, of Virginia Beach, VA and Chase H. McAllister and wife, Kelsy, of Middletown, DE; grandchildren, Chevy and Emily Carson, of Auburn, GA, Ivy Thurman, Shaina, Travis and Summer Hucks, of Ormond Beach, FL, Colton, Caleb and Savannah Conlon, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Ryan and Landry McAllister, of Middletown, DE.
A celebration of life will take place, 2-5 p.m. October 1, 2022 at Maple Dale Country Club, Dover, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be sent to American Brain Tumor Association www.ABTA.org in Larry's honor.
