I am astounded by the fear of the Trump haters in their recent letters in the Daily State News. They fear for America, and they have make-believe, scary dreams about kings, but no one seems to care about the fate of this country if the never-ending spending by the government runs us into the ground. No one is concerned about the debt and our future ability to pay the interest.
What would happen if our creditors called in the debt and demanded the $37 trillion back? Are you worried about Elon Musk cutting waste, fraud and bloated federal payroll? Why is no one worried about default on the debt if it continues to grow to a point where we can’t pay the interest?
My bad dream is finding that the reason we are told that every household’s share of the debt is over $200,000 is that the government is planning to take that from us — our homes, savings accounts, property and other assets. In a way, it already owns our property. If you think you own your home, try not paying your property taxes.
One man has the courage to do the hard thing by trying to rebuild and save the country from financial collapse, yet almost half the country lives in fear of him? I have yet to hear their plan to curb the debt — probably a 60% income tax!
