Kent County Levy Court warns of home warranty scams

Posted

DOVER - The Kent County Levy Court has been notified of two new scams related to Home Warranty Services, spokeswoman Kelly Pitts said on Friday.

Ms. Pitts said anyone receiving a “Final Notice” offering a home warranty should not respond to either letter as they were not initiated by the Kent County Levy Court.

The first scam is a tri-fold envelope with perforated edges on both sides that resembles a check, Ms. Pitts said. Inside, on the top third, there is a Final Notice from “Home Warranty Dept” asking for an immediate response with the Lender info being: KENT CNTY LEVY COURT.

The second third, Ms. Pitts said, contains the window where the name and address would appear from the folded document and a message to immediately call 833-932-0551.

The third portion of the page contains a Registration Fee Voucher which resembles a check for $199.00. Ms. Pitts said this is not from Kent County Levy Court.

The second document is a full-page letter from “Home Warranty Services”, Final Notice where the Lender Info is: KENT CNTY LEVY COURT, Ms. Pitts said.

Within the body the recipient is reminded that they have not contacted them (Home Warranty Services) yet and to immediately call 877-670-3352
Monday-Friday 10am to 7pm EST. The letter did not come from Kent County Levy Court, Ms. Pitts said.
