Kent County FOP Lodge gives out annual awards

DOVER — The president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3, Chris Guild, presented the group’s 2023 annual awards to one active and one associate member Wednesday.

The purpose of the recognition is to honor outstanding commitment to the lodge and its objectives.

The recipient of the Active Member of the Year Award went to past president Paul Davis. Mr. Davis has been a very active part of the lodge for over 55 years.

He attends every monthly meeting with his knowledge and experience to always better the organization and the members it serves.

Mr. Davis has served in a variety of roles on the board of directors and currently holds the office of parliamentarian, which is a direct adviser to the president and board members.

The recipient of the Associate Member of the Year Award was Robert “Bob” Jones, who has been involved since 1991.

Mr. Jones is the building manager and takes care of all the facility and grounds issues. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors as the associate trustee, who is in charge of matters dealing with the associate membership.
