Biddle Davis CRUMPTON, Md. - Kathryn Mabel Biddle Davis, of Crumpton, died on Jan, 30, 2012, at her home. She was 95. Ms. Mabel was born on April 18, 1916, in Crumpton. She was the daughter of the late Willard C. and Leona Williamson Biddle. She graduated from Sudlersville High School. Ms. Mabel and her husband owned and operated Davis Hair Dressers in Wilmington, for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Wilmington, and also volunteered at Luther Towers in Wilmington. In the late 70's, she retired and moved back to Crumpton, where she was born and raised. Ms. Mabel was a member of the Crumpton United Methodist Church, Brandywiner's, Sweet Adeline's, and Eastern Star. She enjoyed singing, socializing, bird watching and spending time with her family. Ms. Mabel is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Davis Grado of Lunenburg, Mass.; a son, Arthur Biddle Davis Manassas, Va.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Hazel Davis in 1966; and one brother, Allan Biddle. A memorial services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Crumpton United Methodist Church, Crumpton, Md. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, following the service.
