June Marie Guerin Bancroft, 75
ELLENDALE - June Marie Guerin Bancroft, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 75. June was the daughter of the late Norman and Laura (Bodah) Bird. She was a homemaker. June was a devout Christian and truly loved her God. She was a former Sunday School teacher at the Ellendale United Methodist Church. She always gave of herself, caring for, thinking of, and giving to others before her needs were even considered. She had a zest for life that was contagious, as was her laughter. She had a knack of making everyone feel better especially in their times of need. June loved to cook and provide for others whenever she had the opportunity. She was one of the first residents to move into the Georgetown Cheer Center when it opened back in 2000. She was unofficially dubbed the Ambassador of the Cheer Center because she would meet new residents, guide them and make sure all of their needs were met. June was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was loved by all and her presence and charisma will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Howard Guerin Sr. in 1988; her second husband, Harry W. Bancroft in 2000; two brothers, Jay and Jerry Bird; and a son-in-law, Jim Parisi. She is survived by a daughter, Carol M. Rains and her husband Brian, of Felton; a daughter, Pat Parisi and her companion Vernon "Butch" Short, of Cool Springs; a son, Joseph Guerin and his wife Michele, of Georgetown; and a daughter, Teena Stout and her husband Danny, of Lincoln; nine grandchildren, Joseph Masten, Buddy Masten, John Parisi, Tony Parisi, Jennifer Hagan, Leigh Ann Guerin, J.T. Guerin, Daniel Stout, Jr., and Laura Stout; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Lou Baker, and Florence Rivers, both of Plattsburgh, N.Y. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in Ellendale Cemetery, Ellendale. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
