She was born in Dunmore, PA on September 3, 1934, to the late James B. and Adrienne C. Moritz. She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1953.
June was dedicated caregiver for her quadriplegic husband, John, for 40+ years. She was an avid reader, quilter, bowled on a senior league up until the age of 83, and loved to play Bingo up to her passing. She also loved good music, and her favorites were Barbra Streisand, Johnny Mathis, and Andy Williams. June was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna and would help out when able. She served as the Secretary for many years.
She is survived by her children; Deborah Rey, Thomson (Tammy) Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Costanzo; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan M. Oakley, and Jane L. (Robert) Johnson; many loving nieces and nephews; and dear friends, David and Connie Gingrich & family who were the most caring and loving neighbors that anyone could have. If you couldn’t get June on the phone, we could call Connie, and she would go check on her!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hamilton; sons, Andrew Hamilton, David Hamilton, and Mark Sidor and his wife Hiroko Sidor; a grandson, Morgan Sidor; and a brother, James Moritz.
Memorial services will be held 12 PM Saturday, May 3 at First Presbyterian Church, 118 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, with a visitation at 11 AM. Interment will be in Holy Hill Cemetery, Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in the name of John and June Hamilton to First Presbyterian Church, 118 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE 19977.
Thank you to the members of the church and to Pastor Riley for handling the service and luncheon for June. Also, a special thank you to dear Mable Moore, lunchmate with June at Westminster Village and the staff there who kept June comfortable the past three years.
