TOWNSEND - Julia M. Jones, 72, of Townsend, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Broadmeadow Rehabilitation, Middletown. Born on Nov. 23, 1936, in Townsend, she was the daughter of the late Peter O. Boyles and Julia M. Shores. Julia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She previously worked at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino and the former Lou Mars in Dover, Bob's Market in Smyrna and Glenwood Inn in Smyrna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis E. Jones, Sr.; her son, George C. Boyles; a brother, George P. Boyles; and sisters, Edna Bailey, Betty Biddle, Mieda Boyles and Cora Reed. She is survived by her son, Willis E. Jones, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Townsend; her daughter, Julia A. Steele and her husband Carl of Smyrna; son, John W. Boyles and his wife Virginia of Townsend; a brother, James W. Boyles and his wife Nancy of Townsend; a special nephew, Ernest L. Boyles of Clayton; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family. Julia's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Delaware Hospice, as well as to the staff and residents at Broadmeadow for their assistance and compassionate care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, where family and friends may visit Tuesday evening, Oct. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest beside her husband in Townsend Cemetery.
