HARRINGTON - Julia "Julie" Camper, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in her home. She was 86. Mrs. Camper was a farm wife all of her life where she lived until her death. Mrs. Camper was the daughter of the late Steven and Susan Bakota. Mrs. Camper was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed living life and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt Camper in 1994; five brothers, Mike Bakota, Andrew Bakota, Steve Bakota, Andrew Kovach and William Kovach; and three sisters, Irene Kaplan, Katherine Smith and Pauline Ward. She is survived by her children, Thelma Rae Melvin and her husband Oscar, of Harrington, and Bud Camper and his wife Jeanne, of Harrington; three grandchildren, Oscar Melvin Jr. and his wife Karen, Lorie Coverdale and her husband Keith, and Eric Camper and his wife Tina; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Hendricks, of Harrington. Funeral services were 12 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
