Judy M. (McDowell) Derrickson, 61

BRIDGEVILLE - Judy M. (McDowell) Derrickson, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, in Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 61. She was born April 21, 1947 in Milford, to Marion McDowell of Bridgeville and the late Evelyn (Willoughby) McDowell. Mrs. Derrickson's hobbies included genealogy and collecting post cards. She was a 1965 graduate of Bridgeville High School and worked as a legal secretary in the Georgetown area for many years. She was loved by all who knew her, especially her aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her father, Mrs. Derrickson is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dennis B. Derrickson, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to thank Delaware Hospice for their compassion and assistance. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, and the Rev. Bruce Legates will be officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
