Juan A. Diaz Sr., 62 HARTLY - Juan A. Diaz Sr., of Hartly, died suddenly at Kent General Hospital, Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009. He was 62. Mr. Diaz was born Aug. 31, 1947, in Puerto Rico, to Cecilio Diaz and the late Martina Gonzalez Diaz. He was once Pastor at Dover Bible Chapel. Mr. Diaz was well known in his community for helping others. He worked for Hanover Foods for 33 years. Juan will be sadly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martina Gonzalez; a sister and two brothers. Mr. Diaz is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Wilma Diaz of Hartly; and his children Lorie Ridgeway of Dover, Angie Stevenson of Smyrna, Juan A. Diaz Jr., and Allen C. Diaz and his companion Krystle Cooper; his father, Cecilio Diaz de Jesus of Puerto Rico; nine brothers and two sisters, Rene Diaz of Little Creek, Luis Diaz of Dover, Jose D. Diaz and wife Shirlee of Dover, Edwin Diaz of Smyrna, Heriberto Diaz , William Diaz, Hector Diaz, Jimmy Martinez, Pablo Martinez, all of Puerto Rico, Selenia Diaz of Milford, Maria Diaz of Dover; five grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews family and friends. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, Dec. 5, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
