Joyce LaVerne Bollman
Joyce LaVerne Bollman entered the arms of her Heavenly Father May 21, 2024.
Joyce was born December 22, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lived until she attended college at age 17. While in college, she met her future husband, Arthur Bollman, and together they celebrated 68 years of marriage before his passing in 2022. As a pastor's wife, they moved to several locations, with their final calling being in Dover, Delaware where together they founded the Southside Baptist Church.
From an early age, Joyce showed a strong interest and talent in music, whether singing or playing the piano. She blessed multitudes with her gift of teaching, leading and singing well into her later years of life. Joyce was hospitable and kind and never turned a stranger away. She was genuinely loved and adored by all, but her greatest love was for Christ and her family.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 2022 and by her son, Philip in 2014. Joyce's legacy is carried on by her three children, Rebecca Snyder, Lyn (Ben) DeVito, Jon (Paula) Bollman, grandchildren: Jonathan (Lindsay) Bollman, Jason (Sara) DeVito, Rachel Snyder, Heather (Jacob) Miller, Jaimie DeVito, Sydney (Ian) Martin, Jenna DeVito and fiancé Darian Shelton, and Jeremy Snyder, and her great grandchildren: Jozlyn, Ava, Jacey, Alana, Skylar, Max, Joshua, Liam, Brynn and April.
Joyce had an older brother, Bob Sears, deceased. Surviving is one living sister, Joan Tester, four sister-in laws, Delores Sears, Elsie Patterson, Edna Smith, and Wanda Bollman, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to family, Joyce leaves behind countless friends made through her many years of ministry as a Pastor's wife.
