Joyce E. Frey, 58 BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Joyce E. Frey, 58 of Bloomsburg, died Friday morning April 30, 2010, at her home. She had dealt with health problems for 7 years and had been in failing health for the past 3 years. She was born May 31, 1951, in Felton, Del., and was a daughter of the late Norman and Mary Downs Melvin. Joyce was a homemaker most of her life working briefly for Sydel Egg Farm, Marydel Del., and Bloomsburg Mills. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved to shop. She could do anything she set her mind to, especially crafts. Joyce was use to cooking big meals and was known for her apple pie. She is survived by her husband, James E. Frey Sr., originally of Jerseytown and they had observed their 37th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2009. She also is survived by six sons, Herman A. Melvin of Nescopeck, James R. Frey and his wife Cheryl of Bloomsburg, Thomas E. Frey of Berwick, James E. Frey Jr. of Waynesboro, Timothy G. Frey and his wife Bim of Tucson Ariz., and Daniel J. Frey of Washingtonville; a daughter, Tammy L. Jones of Danville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, John Melvin and his wife Bea of Clayton, Del.; two sisters, Barbara Dixon and her husband Raymond, Linda Dixon and her husband Ralph, all of Felton, Del., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held this evening, May 3, 2010, at 8 p.m. from the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home, 1024 Market St. Berwick, Pa. Burial will be at the convenience of family. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., this evening at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to Geisinger Home Care and Hospice, 100 Academy Ave. Danville, Pa. 17821.
